Longboat Development Corporation (LDC) is a Winnipeg-based real estate development and project management company with experience in commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial properties.  Longboat has a long history of successful development projects in the Winnipeg market.  Past projects have ranged from small sites to developments over 100 acres, and have included multiple and single-family residential, commercial and industrial developments.

StantecEngineer

Stantec was an integral part of the entire project from conceptualization, visioning and branding to final design and implementation of all civil and related services that this project required.

Working closely with The Oaks team, Stantec planned and designed all facets of the subdivision, while considering and conserving both existing topography and aiding in the preservation of a majority of the Class A forest located onsite. Stantec took a lead role in the design process implementing Low Impact Design strategies and solutions to ensure minimal erosion and maximize water quality being released in the storm water sewer system, and ultimately into adjacent rivers and lakes.

Stantec took a similar lead in minimizing intrusive construction methods along the adjacent riverbank; preserving existing river bottom forest and minimizing riverbank erosion.
With Stantec’s knowledge of residential planning and design, The Oaks has managed to maintain the unique overall vision of the project on schedule and within budget while adhering to the best engineering practices.

I am interested in The Oaks development, how do I purchase a lot?

Can I visit the site to view the lots and development?

Yes. The streets for all 3 phases have been completed, and anyone interested in the development can look around to view the properties. If you plan on visiting please respect those private properties adjacent to the site, and keep to the marked pathways.

What other amenities will be offered within the community?

One of the primary benefits of The Oaks is that it is nestled away in a preserved urban forest, providing a natural environment that is breathtaking all year round. The developers will construct a linear parkway system along the main thoroughfare; this will lead to a large tract of mature forest. A series of wetlands, used to address land drainage, will serve as a picturesque and natural setting for native flora and fauna. While plans for play structures and water-access points are underway, these plans and those for other parklands and facilities will be finalized with resident’s input, as the community develops.
